European Organic

FAQ

1.How can I tell if a product is really organic,
and what certifications should I look for?

To determine if a product is truly organic, you should look for certifications from recognized organic standards organizations. In Europe, the most commonly recognized organic certification standards are from the European Union, such as the EU Organic Logo, and from private organizations like Naturland, which is involved with this campaign.

2.Are organic products more expensive than
conventional products, and why?

Organic products may be more expensive than conventional products due to the higher cost of organic farming practices, which often involve more labor-intensive methods and the use of natural fertilizers and pest control methods.

In the European Union, for example, organic products must meet strict regulations and criteria in order to be certified as organic. Consumers can be confident that organic products that are certified by the EU are of a higher quality and have been produced using sustainable and environmentally friendly practices which is worth for the additional factor that contributes to the higher cost of these products.

3.How can I support organic farming
practices, and what can I do to promote
sustainable agriculture in my community?

You can support organic farming practices by choosing to buy organic products, which helps to create demand for organic farming and normally will lead to support for smaller scale farmers. Simply talking about the benefit of organic products and sustainable agriculture to the environment and society to everyone you know. Your words matter!
